Sandro close to return

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that midfielder Sandro is close to returning to full training after six months out. The Brazilian had established himself as a regular in the heart of the field for Spurs over the last year until injury ended his campaign prematurely. Villas-Boas has already strengthened the midfield by signing Paulinho for a fee of £17million this summer and the two Brazilians could be forced to compete for a place. Spurs will be looking to hit the ground running and have everyone available ahead of the new season; they take on Swindon Town in their first pre-season friendly on Tuesday.
